A custom-made Mustang Mach 40 Supercar has been awarded the annual Sony’s Gran Turismo video game honor to become an in-game ride. Given the title at the huge SEMA car customizers’ convention in Las Vegas, the winning car was built by Eckert Rod & Custom who said, “The goal was to create a what-if mid-engine concept car.”
Taking three years to complete, the Custom Mustang Mach 40 Supercar is a mixture of a 2006 Ford GT, a 5.4-liter supercharged V-8, and a stretched body that gives it a decidedly wide-mouthed 60’s vibe. Sony coders will scan the vehicle and TRON-ify it into a digital download for its Gran Turismo racing game.
