Kroger, America’s largest grocery store chain, has announced that it is going to install 225 electric vehicle charging stations at a total of 125 stores in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. The supermarket chain already has 60 Blink chargers that allow customers to use them with a swipe of a prepaid card at stores in Washington and Oregon. The chargers are made by Ecotality.
Industry insiders feel this move makes sound business sense. “Retailers across the country are quickly realizing the benefits of installing our Blink chargers. Independent research shows that Blink card holders routinely reward these establishments with more time in their stores and repeat business,” said Ravi Brar, Ecotality’s CEO.
