Toyota has released its popular truck-framed SUV, the 4Runner, with an all new inside and body to reveal a vehicle that is decidedly old school. In an era in which vehicles have grown rounded, soft, and occasionally graceful, it can come as quite a shock to see a new vehicle, such as the 2014 Toyota 4Runner, that is all boxy and sharp edges.
Performance wise, the 4Runner has got it going on with a 5-speed automatic melded to a four-by-four drive or a pure, rear-wheel one. Powered by a 270-horsepower V-6, the 4Runner has a top towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. Inside, owners will be treated to an all new Toyota in-dash computer and a noticeable softer cabin.
The 4Runner rates a city 17 miles per gallon in the city and either a 22 or 23 highway mpg depending upon its drivetrain.
