Hyundai has announced that its 2014 Genesis will make its debut on the grand stage of the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January.
Prototypes for the 2014 Genesis have long been seen on European roads to include at Germany’s Nürburgring circuit, where they ran high-speed trials. Though details are still scarce, there is little reason to think its powertrain will be much different than what the current model carries, since it was just last year that it was updated. If this thought holds true, the 2014 Genesis will be fitted with either a 333 horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6 engine or a 5.0-liter V-8 engine that pushes out 429 horses.
Some industry observers feel there is a solid likelihood that Hyundai’s new direct-injected and tubocharged 362 horsepower, 3.3-liter V-6 will find a home in the Genesis as well.
Both Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins have yet to respond to rumors that they will both be on stage; while the skinny guy with the beard has his fingers crossed as he waits for an invitation.
