Ralph Lauren, a man who has made a mighty fine living giving folks what their hearts want, has purchased a $700,000 supercar, proving that he too is controlled by the axiom of “the heart wants what the heart wants.”
The fashion designer’s newest ride, a RUF CTR3, will join Lauren’s stable of fine cars. A car collector of some renown, Lauren surely knows that his 777-horsepower CTR3 is based upon the Porsche Cayman and possesses part of the engine and front end of a Porsche 911. RUF says that the car is capable of reaching speeds that are faster than anyone can drive.
Since RUF launched its CTR3 in 2007, only 25 have been sold in the world, with a mere three of them finding a home in the U.S. In total, RUF sells about 33 cars a year.
