Each spring, in a far off land, a carmaker going by the name of “VW” creates a custom car to the giggling delight of its fans. This year is no different and the fans that have gathered around the daisy-rimmed banks of the Austrian lake Wörthersee soiled their lederhosen when they caught glimpse of Volkswagen’s newest creation, a custom-built Design Vision GTI.
This offering to the Teutonic Gods, Goddesses, Fairies, and Trolls is a hatchback sporting a turbocharged V-6, rather than the inline-4 that sits within the GTIs sitting within the garages of the underfed serfs working the fields throughout the countryside. It churns out 503 horsepower, capable of twisting out 413 lb.-ft. and a maximum speed of 186 miles per hour. This special Design Vision GTI is so fast that its 20-inch wheels require 15-inch ceramic discs to brake.
