Range Rover is such a magnificent SUV that it has changed little in ten years. It simply has not needed to. However, the 2013 Range Rover, while still looking very similar to the 2012 model, will feature some substantial changes under its tough skin.

First of all, the 2013 model year Range Rover comes with an all-aluminum chassis, a first in the SUV world, that when combined with other weight-cutting measures results in a vehicle that is 700 pounds lighter than was the 2012 model. Moreover, the 2013 Rover is fitted with a new ZF 8-speed transmission and a carryover direct-injected V8 that pumps out 375 horsepower in its naturally aspirated flavor or 510 horsepower in its supercharged version. The more powerful of the two, shoots the SUV box from zero to 60 in 5.1 seconds.
