The hype around the new 2014 Corvette Stingray has been incredible, and well warranted too! The new Stingray promises incredible performance, luxury appointments, and the industry’s best infotainment system. Throw in shockingly good fuel economy – as much as 29mpg – and the new Vette’ is arguably the best sports car available in the world (unless money is no object, that is).

The new 2014 Stingray is the best sports car available on the market...unless money is no object, that is.
Killer Looks and Jaw Dropping Performance
The first thing one will notice about the 2014 Stingray is the new design — the Corvette has recently had a change to some styling cues that make it look more exotic than ever. This generation’s interior is also the most premium to date.
Since it’s a Corvette, naturally the engine is the thing most people are interested in — and for good reason. The 2014 Stingray will get an LT1, a style of General Motors engine that’s actually been around since 1955. This 6.2L V8 power plant is SAE-certified at 455 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm, and 460 lbs-ft of torque @ 4,600 rpm. These numbers, and those for the models with performance exhaust (460 hp & 465 tq.) represent the highest standard power rating ever for the Chevy Corvette.

Chevy's new 6.2L V8 features direct injection, continuously variable valve timing, and cylinder deactivation, generating 455hp while getting up to 29mpg.
What’s even more impressive is that the Stingray is able to offer such power and still get good gas mileage, really good gas mileage in fact. The 2014 Stingray will get 29 highway mpg, which makes it the most fuel efficient American made V8 sports car to date. The combination of power and efficiency is an amazing representation of advancements in technology.

The Stingray moniker has a tremendous heritage...Chevy has done right by the name's strong reputation.
Backing the powerful engine will be a standard 7-speed manual transmission — there’s no word yet on an optional 6-speed automatic paddle-shift transmission.
Steering and Suspension Specs
The 2014 Corvette will be based on a double wishbone front and rear suspension design. It will include a front & rear stabilizer bar and have four-wheel independent suspension.
Standard models include options to toggle between Weather, Eco, Tour, Sport, and Track modes. These modes change steering, throttle, and stability control engagement for adjustable driving feel.
The available Z51 suspension package includes larger wheels with performance tires, high-tech chassis & suspension tuning, available Magnetic Ride Control suspension with adjustable firmness, and many more tweaks in terms of performance.

The 2014 Vette's interior is a giant leap forward for GM, as is the MyLink Infotainment system.
There’s still a lot we don’t know yet about the 2014 Stingray, but everything so far is pointing towards this model being the ultimate sports car.
