The 2012 Maybach 57 will be the last of its kind so if you were thinking about purchasing a $400,000-something sedan that can go head-to-head against your neighbor’s Mercedes-Benz, your ex-wife’s Bentley and your mistress’s pair of Rolls-Royce, now is the time to act.
Once you make the buy, you will undoubtedly be pleased with its smooth ride, tightly refined engine, and interior that has been likened to a “leather-lined bank vault.” Unfortunately, on the other hand, you will most likely be disappointed to find yourself in a car that does not look much different than did the first Maybach about 15 years ago.
Mercedes-Benz, the owner of the Maybach division, knows that the car is well behind the times and has decided to put it out of its misery.
