A giant Cadillac coupe is what General Motors needs to make and offer, according to Mark Reuss, president of General Motors North American operations. Speaking at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Reuss said, “You make a statement with a coupe. You don’t make a statement with a sedan. That’s the car Cadillac needs.”
What car exactly is Reuss speaking of? It is the Cadillac Elmiraj concept coupe that it showed at the Frankfurt Auto Show and at the showing of luxury and specialties in Pebble Beach? Perhaps, but not all industry observers are buying the story. After all, they point out that it was just a few months ago that General Motors CEO Dan Akerson said that a car larger than its XTS full-size sedan was on its way.
Akerson is saying that a super-sized sedan is coming, while Reuss says that GM needs a super-sized coupe. Are the two leaders having a public feud or are they letting us know that two different giant cars will be here soon?
