Mercedes-Benz Ener-G Force

The Los Angeles Auto Show is one of the top spots on the planet for a car lover to get an eye full of tomorrow’s rides each year, and this year was no different. One of the most exciting cars unveiled at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show was the Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force, an SUV that was designed to meet the needs of law enforcement agencies in 2025.

Looking completely Mars ready, the Ener-G-Force is described by Mercedes as being “pure science fiction.” However, with its integrated bull bar, 20-inch off-road wheels and built in police lights, it sure seems as if it should be made for the real world at some point – or at least a post-apocalyptic one!

Being purely science fiction, means that the SUV is loaded with science fiction tools and features. The vehicle is powered by fuel cells that are capable of pulling hydrogen from any source, while on its roof sits a “terrascan” topography sensor that tightens and loosens the Ener-G-Force’s suspension at exactly the right moment.

(Editors Note:  still, for all those nifty gadgets, I can’t help but think this thing looks like a Mercedes version of the FJ Cruiser – too toyish.  Just my opinion.)
