I don’t know what the hell is in the water in Iceland, but I do know what’s ON THE WATER: a 1600-horsepower Formula Off-Road buggy piloted by Gudbjørn Grimsson, what the Top Gear folks call a “turbonutter.” Grimsson recently hydroplane his buggy across a 1001-foot-wide river at a record-setting speed of 54 mph. The paddled tires act like…well, paddle-wheels on a steamboat, and the twin-turbo Nelson racing Ford V8, with 1600 horses screaming at full song, provides the power to stay afloat.
