Peugeot was, in fact, an official partner in the film.

There are two cars that are driven by the main characters in the movie 3 Days To Kill. One is a Peugeot 208 GTI driven by Kevin Costner’s character and the other is a Peugeot RCZ driven by his boss Vivi.

The Peugeot 208 is a B-segment super-mini car produced by French automaking legend Peugeot. It made is first appearance at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Early production models were three door hatchbacks; however, five door hatchbacks were added for the 2013 model year. The 208 replaced the 207. It is based on the PSA PF1 platform, but its weight is reduced by approximately 200 lbs when compared to the 207, offering better fuel economy.

The Peugeot 208 GTI features a 1.6L turbo in-line four-cylinder that manages 197 hp at 5,800 rpm and 203 lb-ft at 1,700 rpm. The impressively responsive engine is coupled to a smooth performing 6-speed manual transmission for a driver’s dream.

The Peugeot RCZ is a sport coupe that was launched in 2010. It made its international debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, but had been announced in 2007 as the 308 RCZ concept car at that year’s Frankfurt show. The RCZ has received five ”Best Sports Car” awards from Diesel Car magazine and was named ”2010 Coupe of the Year” by Top Gear.

The RCZ is powered by a 1.6L in-line turbo four similar to the one in the 208 above. The engine in the RCZ produces 266 hp at 6,000 rpm and 243 lb-ft at 1,900 rpm. After 2010, the engine is generally paired with a 6-speed manual. It has a 0-60 time of just 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.

While the RCZ is available in over 80 countries, the United States is not one of them. The 208 is not available in America, either. Peugeot found it was no longer economic to offer its models for sale in the U.S. due to faltering sales. The sales drop is mainly contributed to aging designs at the time, but another factor may have been that the cars were very small in comparison to American models and did not suit American tastes of the era.
