If the rumors are true, we may soon see a whole different car coming from a big name in performance vehicles. Porsche is joining the electric car market with a previously announced, smaller version of the Panamera, code name “Pajun.” Previously, we had only seen a drawing of the new vehicle, but Porsche’s push to lead the luxury performance eco-craze has green-lighted this new version with its all-electric technology. Porsche has the broadest range of plug-in hybrids in its class and is seeking to beat its luxury and performance rivals Mercedes, BMW, and Audi among others to the green punch. The company believes that the technology will soon advance far enough that a single charge will last for 250 miles. This is just one of the classic company’s environmental toe-dippings. It is planning to make other changes as well, such as making smaller engines and turbocharging its famous 911 product line.
