Mercedes’ much-loved four-door coupe, the CLS63 AMG 4MATIC, is back and much improved. More powerful than ever, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG 4MATIC has gotten upgrades in both the horsepower and the traction department.
Connected to the ground with the all-wheel-drive system that the newest E63 AMG four-door sedan has just been given, the CLS63’s number of horses has been increased by 32 to reach 550 to go along with 531 lb-ft. of torque. This extra power and enhanced traction gets the CLS63 from a stand-still to 62 in 3.7 seconds. Getting this power to the wheels is AMG’s seven-speed automatic transmission. Dubbed the “speedshift,” the transmission is controlled by paddles on the steering wheel and a console-mounted shifter.
Being a Mercedes-Benz, the CLS63 is loaded with just about everything a discerning car enthusiast could ask for such as its electro-mechanical power steering that self-adjusts according to the car’s suspension setting, which has three modes that are also controlled electronically. There is also a shooting brake version available.
Prices for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG 4MATIC have not yet been released.
