Ford has finally released the fuel efficiency ratings for its 2013 Ford Fusion Energi PHEV, and, just between you and me, they do astonish.
According to the American automaker, the Fusion Energi has a more-than-respectable single-charge range of 21 miles and a stunning total gas/electric range of 620 miles. In agreement with Ford, the Environmental Protection Agency rated the Fusion Energi at 100 MPGe combined, putting it well ahead of the Toyota Prius Plug-In and the Chevrolet Volt.
The Ford’s combined range of 620 miles is better than all of its competitors. The Honda Accord Plug-In is second with a combined-range of 574 miles. Interestingly, despite its long range, the Fusion Energi is also more powerful than the other plug-ins pumping out 195 horses, which is furloughs ahead of the Prius’s 134 and the Volt’s 150.
The 2013 Ford Fusion Energi PHEV Sedan is set to roll onto dealership floors by the start of spring and start at around $32,760.
