Chrysler has announced that it is recalling 4,278 Dodge Viper sports cars across the planet due to the threat of the vehicles’ airbags deploying at any time for no discernible reason.
Most of the Vipers, 3,660, are being recalled in the United States, while 440 are being recalled in Canada, an even 10 in Mexico, and 168 across the remainder of the globe. The recall affects Dodge Vipers from model years 2003 and 2004. The defect may also cause the front seat belt pretensioners to deploy without reason.
This recall comes just five months following the one Chrysler had for nearly one million Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty SUVs from 2002 to 2004 for the exact same problem.
