Finding the best sports cars under $15,000 is not as difficult a search as you might think. Sure, you will be priced out of a Ferrari, but you can find some great deals with fifteen grand in hand. Here are five used sports cars that are under $15,000, have solid dependability numbers according to J.D. Power and Associates, as well as receiving good marks through Consumer Reports. Just for good measure, these cars also scored well with the NHTSA and the IIHS for safety.

Ford Mustang under $15,000

The iconic Ford Mustang has enjoyed a resurgence over the past few years. Totally redesigned in 2005, the new styling appeals to a wide range of consumers. Additionally, the Mustang is very affordable for most budgets. You can find a 2007 Ford Mustang hardtop with the Premium trim package(non-GT) for $10,000. Should you prefer the GT with the Premium trim level, the price tag hits around $14,500.

Nissan 350Z under $15,000

Nissan has been known to make some great sports cars, well, known among enthusiasts that is. The classic Z line-up from the 70s was awesome! The updated 350Z features a 3.5L V6 that delivers 306 hp and great linear torque. The tight handling and responsiveness create a sports car to be envied. You can find a 2007 Nissan 350Z with the Touring trim package for right around $13,700.

BMW 330Ci under $15,000

If luxury and sport are your true desires, then the 3-series is for you. You can find a nicely appointed 2006 325Ci for around $9,500. That is a nice car, but the 330Ci offers a larger, more thrilling engine. The 330Ci features a 3.0L HO V6 that begs you to unleash the 225 hp and 214 ft-lbs of torque. You can find a great 2006 BMW 330Ci for about $12,000. Upgrade to the 2007 328Ci(basically the same car, different designation) and you will need to be ready to shell out the whole fifteen grand of our price point.

Honda S2000 under $15,000

The Honda nameplate tells you that this is a long lasting, reliable car. The S2000 is probably the least well known Honda model, but it offers a lot of fun. It features a stock four-cylinder that is capable of 0 to 60 in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 150 mph. It also has an aggressive stance combined with a well designed interior. You should be able to find a 2003 Honda S2000 with fewer than 120,000 miles for around $8,500. Upgrading to the 2005, which was mildly redesigned, will raise the price to about  $10,500. Both are affordable cars with tremendous reliability.

Audi TT Quattro under $15,000

Over the last eight years, Audi has won more luxury awards than any other car maker. The TT Quattro offers a responsive engine and the AWD to help hold it on the road in most conditions. You should be able to find a 2005 Audit TT Quattro with around 100,000 miles on it in the $12,000 neighborhood.
